I love my baby Abe @abethenewfoundland on Instagram he is our 3-year-old Newfoundland. We are so sick in love with this fella it’s hard to find words. Yes we have grown children so don’t get me wrong but we never thought we’d be “those people” but we are! LOL So one of the ways I love to spoil my baby is by making Abe’s “Puppy Muffins” they are organic (mostly) healthy homemade dog treats. That Mike eats too – crazy he threw butter on two yesterday and was like DELICIOUS! LOL, What can I say I’m good. So while I’m made a batch for him for Christmas and to give away I wanted to share this with you. Sometimes I go all out with the organic and sometimes half and a half but he loves them. Abe knows the words “puppy muffin” and will do just about anything for one. The drooling waterworks start immediately. That’s Abe I’m referring to not Mike! LOL Give or take on measurements its the consistency of the batter that I focus on.
Abe's Puppy Muffins
Home-made healthy dog treats
Ingredients
- 1 cup coconut flour
- 2 ripe bananans
- 1 cup peanut butter or almond butter
- 3/4 cup oatmeal
- 1 cup applesauce
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 egg
Instructions
-
I mix all the ingredients together in a mixer and scoop into a mini muffin tin
cooking from anywhere to 10 - 13 min. You just have to gauge the doneness with the toothpick/knife trick cooland serve - your pup will come running.
I store them in a glass jar on the counter - because they are fresh let them get some air so not to mold up but really these only last 4 - 5 days in the house with my fella
We hope you will give this recipe a try – like I said I just kind of wing it so that it’s like a thick cupcake batter. Add whatever you think your pup will love and go from there.
HUGS FROM ABE & I
