Well, My People,
Here we are still at home. A few things are lifting but it is slow and going on 11 weeks here in the DMV. I hope first and foremost you and your family are healthy and safe and sound. With that being said. Life is different – no hair appts. no nails, botox, hydrafacials, laser treatments, spray tans dentist appts. its all on hold. Well listen here baby we gotta keep ourselves feeling good on the inside and the out! I am here to give you some Covid-19 at-home DIY beauty treatments I have done for years. Now, these types of things are more important since we can go anywhere, am I right? I am going to give a list of pretty basic products and the recipes to have at ti. This Memorial Day Weekend is a great time to treat yourself or maybe even your mother, daughter, and spouse. (Mike loves facials and foot soaks just saying they may need a little TLC too). I will give you the list of products and break treatments down to two posts. See the list below.
- 1-2 eggs
- lemon (2 or so)
- olive oil ( good EVO)
- coffee grounds ( stronger the better – brewed taken from the filter)
- apple cider vinegar – APV
- milk powder
- baking soda
- hydrogen peroxide
- Epsom salt
- tapioca powder – (for any blemishes if not blemish-prone skip this one – found in Asian markets or health food stores)
If you’re extra:
- essential oils – I love eucalyptus and lavender
- dry brush
- old socks
- old sweat outfit or robe
Then put it over your face – I concentrate under my eyes and around my nose area anything puffy in the morning. let it sit for 10 min. with a towel under you – they dry and drop off Or do it in the bath. Your skin may begin to tingle this is good its the acids in the coffee working. Tolerate as long as you can up to 10 min then rinse with warm water and finish with cold water rinse – add moisturizer and Volia – Lovey start and a smooth blank canvas for the day.
You tell me that this is not the best …… comment below.
Next cleanser boost
- Remove makeup with a tablespoon olive oil and hot washcloth rub all over and gently rub even near your eyes.
- Next use your cleanser – gentle or cream-based no really harsh ones, please, and wash grime and oil off. Don’t worry we are not done
- baking soda
Mix the two together and make a paste or put cleaners on face lather than add 1 tablespoon baking soda on top and gently rub all over – even under the eyes – it’s natural so should be fine
(reminder if anything feels bad – stop it and rinse your face off entirely). Your face will be baby smooth – don’t forget your next and hands.
After rinsing your face with warm then cold water and finish with your nighttime serums moisturizer eye creams. Don’t forget your lips.
Bath Time: Even better when puppies are involved like my baby Lincoln here…..
Fill the tub with hot water (hot as you can stand) add 2-4 cups Epsom salt depending on tub size than add 1/2 cup baking soda – use the dry brush all over before getting into the tub. this is not a great feeling but don’t do it to make yourself hurt just to get things moving and always go towards your heart. Next soak for 20 min. Sip on lemon water while in there not to get overheated. I also add my essential oils whichever one you prefer mine is ALWAYS eucalyptus. I will have two washcloths handy to one to put cold water on and then top my head and face when I’m too hot and one to ut essential oils on with the hot water and lay on my chest and inhale deeply. I will set my iPhone to some soothing music and just breathe.
Come back tomorrow I’ll show you some of the other DIY Pantry Beauty treatments to do from the list – you will love them promise – esp the egg and apple cider vinegar with milk powder….
Stay Well – Be Kind To Yourself!
Love ya xoxo,
